What it is

The festival describes itself as an outdoor fall weekend that draws thousands of visitors to explore nature, art and design, smart living and craft beer. Artists and makers sell work in painting, clay, glass, jewelry, wood, metalwork, fiber, photography, printmaking and other media; the 2026 featured artist is Penny Dobson, whose art is on this year’s poster. Chase Bank is the 2026 presenting sponsor, the festival announced Sept. 18.

The weekend also has the Moss Rock Market (smart living vendors and a sweets area), a food truck cafe, WonderKid Studios art and nature workshops for children, and a tree project called Take Root. The festival is held the first full weekend of November; in 2025 it was Nov. 1-2.

The festival recommends buying ahead for faster entry. Gates open at 10 a.m. each day, cards are encouraged at the gate and the event is moving toward cashless. There are no student, military or senior discounts, and tickets are not refundable, the FAQ says. Armbands let you leave and come back.

Beer Garden

The Beer Garden, in its 15th year, runs from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday under two big tents. The ticket includes a commemorative glass, tastings from Alabama and other breweries, homebrewers’ beers, beer snacks and the day’s football games on a big screen, plus two-day festival admission. Everyone is carded at the door. Designated driver tickets are $5 at the door for anyone 21 or older; the designated driver still needs a festival ticket. It is open rain or shine and is a no-smoking area.
