Riverchase is the large planned community on Hoover’s south side, south of I-459 and the Riverchase Galleria, on both sides of U.S. 31 and along the Cahaba River. Most of it is in Shelby County. It is largely single-family homes around the Riverchase Country Club golf course and its lakes, with apartments and offices along Riverchase Parkway and U.S. 31.

Where it is
OpenStreetMap places Riverchase south of I-459 around Old Montgomery Highway, with Chase Plantation, Arbor Hill and Chace Lake named inside it. On this page the area is the Riverchase Elementary attendance zone, which covers almost all of it.
In the school system’s parcel layer (2023 county tax records), 3,280 parcels carry Riverchase in their subdivision name, among them the long run of Riverchase Country Club additions and Riverchase West. Of those, 2,980 are in the Shelby County part of Hoover, 260 in the Jefferson County part, 38 in Pelham and two in unincorporated Shelby County. Census ZIP code areas put Riverchase in 35244.

- Chace Lake Park, 1863 Chace Drive: 8 acres on the old Chace Lake golf course, with a paved walking trail, fitness stations, benches and fishing. No restrooms.
- Wildflower Park, 2000 Wildflower Drive, off Riverchase Parkway West: 14 acres with two playgrounds, an outdoor basketball court, a walking track (5 laps to the mile) and restrooms.

Getting around
- Interstates: I-65 exit 246 (Cahaba Valley Road, AL 119) is about 3 miles by road from the middle of the area; exit 247 (Valleydale Road and Riverchase Parkway) and I-459 exit 13 (U.S. 31) are each about 3.1 miles.
- City Hall: about 3.6 miles by road to 100 Municipal Lane.
- Airport: about 19 miles by road to Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport. Distances are measured on the OpenStreetMap road network with the OSRM routing engine; they are distances, not drive times.
- Buses: no MAX Transit route runs through Riverchase. The nearest stop in MAX Transit’s schedule data is the Galleria stop on Route 31 (Highway 31 South), about 2.2 miles away in a straight line.
